"The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization is the best way for our school's parents to interact with their child's teachers. We strive to foster those relationships and create a sense of community between our staff and our parents through projects, scholarships, goal-sharing, and open communication." John Mussulman, PTO President

The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has grown over time to form a collaborative relationship in support of our students. This connection is bolstered by a unifying goal to raise funds, make improvements, and support school initiatives deemed appropriate and necessary to the functions of the school. Comprised of PTO officers, parents, administrators, a teacher representative from each grade level, support staff members, and a Spanish translator, the PTO meets monthly to discuss school priorities and initiate fundraising efforts. Our PTO Meetings take place the first Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. in room 1. We hope to see you there!

A Note From Our PTO President

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.... IN THE COLD NOVEMBERRRRRRRRRR BLURBBBBBB

I heard in a song that nothing lasts forever, in the cold November rain. Now, I'm no expert on the weather but it seems to me that any rain we get is a blessing. I say, and you can quote me on this: November rains are good. But…do you know what is better than a November rain? That is right- PTO stuff!

Welcome to the Jungle, friends. The day you got this newsletter is the day of our Fall Festival. Friday, 11/1 from 5-7, come party with us! If you want to wear your Halloween costumes again, go for it! You and your Sweet Children are more than welcome to make our festival SPOOKY and FUN. I will be in my costume as well- Fun PTO President. Either that or Mr. Brownstone, I haven't decided yet. Regardless, COME TO THE FESTIVAL!! A very special thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who help us make this one of our favorite events.

Also, coming up this month will be one of my favorite outreaches that we do all year- every

November we try to secure donations to provide a Thanksgiving meal to some of our families. This year has taken a bit more of my patience to get that done, but that's okay.

It's going to be a great month. As always, we will be having our meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at 2:30 on campus. Childcare and translation are always provided! I hope you show up. I'll bring pizza!
